INTERNATIONAL TRAINEE PROGRAMME - BROADVIEW HOLDING

Our commitment towards sustainability boils down to three simple and clear principles: do no harm, do good, do better. However, how are these principles translated into something practical? As we believe that facts speak louder than words, our approach can consistently be described as fact-based. Based on the principle that “if you don’t measure it, you cannot manage and improve it”, the foundations of our sustainability approach and activities lie in the measurement of our environmental performance. Sustainability assessments (through Life Cycle Assessment methodology) have become the pivotal tool to guide the development of new products, to lead the way to the introduction of new raw materials and processes and to help the selection of suppliers, making sustainability a cornerstone of our strategy. It has attention within all our companies, with first attention to our materials business.

Trainees play a key role in performing Life Cycle Assessments and translating the results into opportunities to reduce our environmental footprint. In this way, we can develop and monitor environmental improvement plans and sustainability programmes and promote discussions with decision makers in different departments, ranging from purchasing, R&D, quality and SHE (safety health and environment) to sales and marketing.

The International Trainee Programme

The International Trainee Programme is our way of investing in young talents right out of university while developing future leaders for the companies in our business portfolio.

Over a period of 18 months, you will work on two or three challenging projects in different countries and companies within the group. If you strive to get the most out of yourself and to make an impact in an international environment, this is a powerful start to your career.

You can read more about the programme, examples of projects and testimonials of (former) trainees on .

The programme offers:

  • A solid analytical basis and broad understanding of a variety of disciplines, industries and countries.
  • Working side by side with CEOs and other senior management. A high feedback frequency facilitates development.
  • Continued personal mentoring and several days of training in the Netherlands, to ensure a steep learning curve related to both personal and professional development.
  • Access to an international network of ambitious young talent.
  • A competitive salary including housing while on the programme.

Who is the programme for?

  • To participate, you require a master’s degree. The most relevant study backgrounds for our Sustainability projects are Industrial Ecology, Environment & Sustainable Development and Environmental Science. However we are open to other fields in combination with relevant internship experience. Interest in Life Cycle Assessments is needed.
  • We are looking for trainees with a specific mindset. Do you recognise yourself in the following description? If so, you may be one of our future trainees:
  • a driven, self-motivated and determined person who sets and achieves ambitious targets
  • a person with very good interpersonal skills, strong team spirit and a hands-on attitude
  • a systematic and analytical thinker
  • a quick learner who is self-reflective and open to feedback
  • a strong communicator
  • determined, disciplined and persistent
  • structured, precise and detailed
  • curious and pro-active

As you might need to travel to other companies in the group during the programme, previous experience of living abroad indicates that you will be able to adjust to living in another country. It is essential that you have a good command of both spoken and written English. Ability in other European languages is considered an asset.
