Job Description

Maintenance & Engineering Stores Manager

Location: Cramlington, Northumberland

Salary: Circa £40,000 per year

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance inventory and purchasing. They will also be responsible for managing the budget and ensuring achievement of KPI's. This role will develop into supporting continuous improvement in Maintenance with TPM Development & Six Sigma Projects.

Essential Requirements:
  • Previous experience of managing Maintenance & Engineering stores.
  • A background in high pressure, high volume manufacturing.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills, enthusiasm, energy & drive.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Experience in negotiating & tendering contracts.
  • Import & Export Knowledge

Key tasks & responsibilities:
  • Coach and mentor 1 direct report
  • Cost Control (MRO).
  • Managing the warranty & repair process.
  • Identifying Critical Spares.
  • Develop and manage vendor rating system.
  • 5S Development in Engineering Stores.
  • Work towards a vendor managed inventory (VMI) approach.
  • Implementation and control of CMMS Inventory Managements System.
  • Reduce downtime sourcing 'Best Value' spares and components.
  • Support the improvement of maintenance systems.
  • Generating and implementing continuous improvement ideas and involvement in Six Sigma activities.
  • A flexible approach with a positive attitude, strong problem solving skills and communication skills.

  • Inventory Control (Accuracy & Reduction)
  • Engineering Cost Control
  • Engineering Downtime
  • 5S (MRO Stores)
  • Maintenance Development (TPM & Six Sigma)


Qualifications

  • Minimum ONC within an Engineering or Manufacturing Discipline
  • Purchasing qualifications would be an advantage
