Location: Remote - Chicago, New York, Philadelphia - 50% Travel
The Sr. Manager of Engineering will provide engineering support to PBNA Supply Chain, by working on major capital capacity, innovation, and cost management projects as well as infrastructure work and strategic initiatives. The individual in this position will provide capital project management and/or project oversight for major CAPEX approvals at PBNA North American manufacturing locations. This position works closely with Operations, Marketing, Package and Product Development, Procurement and external suppliers. This position is responsible for driving standardization and serving as a technical liaison to plants.
  • Proven capital project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in different geographic areas.
  • Proficiency in negotiating with vendors, contractors and consultants.
  • Proven leadership in troubleshooting/problem solving in the can manufacturing environment and proficiency of understanding can filling, can seaming technologies, can packaging (into a carton, wrap etc) and can twist operations AND / OR in troubleshooting/problem solving in the manufacturing environment and proficiency of understanding preform operations, blow molding and labeling technology.
  • Understanding of finance, product/project cost tracking and reporting.
  • Self-motivated, results & action oriented.
  • Solid team building skills; able to manage and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience in managing direct reports, exempt and non-exempt.
  • Ensure projects adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety, quality, and accepted construction and equipment installation methods
  • Collaborate with the plant director, plant engineer, and maintenance manager to ensure a smooth transition at the conclusion of the project
  • Develops standards and metrics that provide best practices for line upgrades/modifications and/or new installations with the consideration of material flow
  • Computer skills to include proficiency with computer maintenance management systems, reporting/tracking software, Excel, Microsoft Project, etc.
  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Autodesk (CAD & Navisworks) & BIM experience is preferred
  • Experience with LGVs/AGV is preferred

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of Engineering experience in a high-speed beverage Manufacturing Environment (CAN and PET preferred)
  • Solid understanding of Plant Maintenance Operations.
  • Solid understanding of process utilities, product processing and blending/carbonation processes
  • Individual project CAPEX expenditure experience should be at least $6-10 million; team experience over $20 million
  • Proven experience managing multiple CAPEX expenditures
  • Ability to travel; individual can expect to be traveling around 50% of the time.

  • Strong team building skills required to manage and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in managing direct reports, exempt and non-exempt.
  • Computer skills to include strong familiarity with computer maintenance management systems, reporting/tracking software, Excel, MS Project, etc.
  • Proficiency with basics of finance, product cost accounting and statistical process control. Able to effectively manage and track project spending and report financials on a regular basis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
