Job Description
The SAP Record to Report - Architect will be responsible for defining, designing, and delivering SAP centric solutions that enable and enhance AbbVie’s processes in the SAP area of Record of Report, with specialization in Intercompany processes. This role will ensure high quality solutions are built that meet current and anticipated business needs. Responsibilities include partnering with business leadership and project management, provide guidance to technical teams, drive effective issue management and effective communication with key stakeholders.
The SAP Record to Report - Architect will also be responsible for evaluating alternatives to satisfy business objectives, estimate and plan projects. This role will be involved in solving complex problems that arise during the planning and execution of different IT programs and projects as well as managing SAP support activities.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Understanding organization's vision, goals, and strategies and aligning department priorities appropriately, determine critical success factors, evaluate, and pursue initiatives based on fit for purpose.
  • Anticipating and recommending technical solutions to business problems to ensure maintainability, reliability, and availability of systems solutions relative to business expectations.
  • Assessing near-term needs utilizing structured interview processes to establish business priorities, consult with technical subject matter experts and develop alternative technical solutions; advise on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities.
  • Ability to design and adhere to architecture governance frameworks within the portfolio business domain and broader organizational structures.
  • Conducting scoping and fit-gap workshops, proposing solutions for critical gaps, estimating efforts, and aligning with business teams.
  • Championing change and innovation by stimulating creativity in others. Should be open to new ideas and support those who initiate change and take risks.
  • Demonstrating thought leadership by adapting innovative insights and practices to fit team and cultural needs.
  • Defining templates, standards, and patterns to be used across project teams.
  • Establishing and maintaining high-quality relationships with all levels across the company and with external partners.
  • Managing employees/contractors, direct/indirect at varying levels of the Project Management job family.

Qualifications
Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:
Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years experience; Master's Degree with 7 years experience; PhD with 3 years experience.
  • Strong background in Finance, Indirect Tax, Intercompany accounting and reconciliations, Bank Statement management / Cash Application, Regulatory Reporting, Finance period-end closing and integration with P2P, O2C, and Banking systems.
  • Ability to design, develop and advice on complex integrations between S/4 HANA and other systems (transactional and master data)
  • Ability to research solutions for complex requirements in S/4 HANA by being able to configure and setup Proof of Concepts
  • Hands-on experience planning and facilitating blueprint workshops.
  • Experience supporting deployments, including scoping, design, localization, testing, Go Live, and transition to AMS (Application Management Support).
  • Proven track record in leading SAP solution architecture designs that deliver enduring value to the organization, considering both business drivers and IT cost structures.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring business and IT resources to ensure effective and sustainable application designs.
  • Excellent team leadership skills, ideally with experience in global teams with matrix reporting and deliverables.

Beneficial:
  • Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred and a degree in Finance is preferred.
  • Good to have knowledge in Fiori.
  • SAP FI/CO Certification is a plus.
