About the roleWhen people in the community experience a period of illness that makes day to day living difficult, the Surrey County Council Reablement Team is there.
Working within people's homes, we promote people regaining daily living skills and general wellbeing for those who have experienced mental or physical health conditions.
Joining us as a Reablement Assistant, you'll be doing something that really matters. Working autonomously, you'll have the responsibility for individual, sensitive needs of those who require support.
It will be your job to provide support with all daily living tasks, including medication and mobility. You'll be there to ensure dignity, choice and control is maintained for those who feel like they have lost it from their lives. They'll look to you for support and guidance, a helping hand, and most importantly, the development of their reablement programme; allowing them to continue with their lives.
You'll come to us with a real passion to help others. A natural communicator, you'll take easily to dealing with sensitive and sometimes difficult situations, diffusing any tensions and making sure those in your care are at their ease. You will either hold, or be able to work towards an NVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification.
It is also crucial that you have a valid UK driver's license with vehicle and business insurance, as you'll be required to travel to visit people in their own homes. Above all you'll understand how important maximizing independence is to the people who use our services.
In return, you'll find that our support doesn't stop with people who use our service. At SCC, we are just as dedicated to the wellbeing of our staff. Joining us, you'll be supported from the beginning, whilst working flexibly. You'll also be given excellent personal development with an amazing set of opportunities, allowing you to progress in your career.
