USSOCOM's mission is to “Provide fully capable Special Operations Forces (SOF) to defend the United States and its interests and synchronize planning for global operations against terrorist networks.” As a member of our team, you will partner with SOF military and civilian members to directly support this mission by providing world-class Information Technology services and support that connect over 60,000 users around the world.
The Network Architect performs tier four network support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. Candidates pursuing the Network Architect position need an extensive background in networking technology. They must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities. Candidates must have a strong background in the design and maintenance of local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), as well as an excellent working knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols (e.g., Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Multiprotocol Labeling Switching (MPLS).
- Assessing business and applications requirements for corporate data and voice networks
- Planning, designing and upgrading network installation projects
- Establishing and maintaining backup, version control and malware defense systems
- Troubleshooting network architectures and recommending system fixes and enhancements
- Making recommendations for leveraging network installations and reducing operations costs
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or similar field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Certification: Employment is contingent upon obtaining all required certifications within the timeframe specified in a waiver by the government (if applicable) and maintaining required certifications through the duration of the contract. Failure to obtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination.
- Preferred Certifications: DOD 8570 IAT Level II or higher
