Capital Calculation Analyst at Generali Italia

Job Description

Within the Group Capital Calculation Operations and Solutions function, we are looking for a resource with experience in insurance risk management and capital calculation with mathematical / actuarial skills and IT background.

They will be in charge of requirement definition, design, functional testing and configuration of the tools aimed to calculate Generali risk capital for Group Risk Management users, local country users and any other stakeholder within the Group. They will have the opportunity to join a multidisciplinary and international team involved in challenging and innovative projects.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Write or collect new functional requirements for the application in the GRM area used for the calculation and reporting of capital results
  • Review the functional design of the applications in scope of capital calculation in GRM area
  • Where needed, amend the relevant replicating models to validate the functional design
  • Write the detailed list of test cases
  • Coordinate the UAT activity
  • Execute functional and non-functional tests of any new release of applications in scope for capital calculation in GRM area
  • Support technical and operational tests with functional insight or guidance
  • Execute code changes in the reporting aggregation kernel
  • Test and validate any configuration change to the applications in scope of capital calculation in GRM area once in production
  • Support operation manager, when needed, to configure, upload data and run the applications according to capital plan


In addition, during the high peak of system usage and according to the workload of the Development area, the FE can be requested to support the Operation manager in his day by day activity to set up and run the application in production.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
  • Bachelor and/or master's degree in engineering or Mathematical Sciences as well as any other IT/quantitative discipline
  • Robust knowledge of statistical techniques and their application
  • Knowledge and possible experience in Monte Carlo Simulation techniques, distribution fitting, linear regression, correlations and aggregation of risks
  • Knowledge of Python, R or equivalent programming languages
  • Software development experiences, better if in enterprise IT projects
  • Testing and software development methodology knowledge
  • Solid and enhanced use of Microsoft Office suite and VBA


Nice to Have:
  • Previous professional work experience Internal model or Standard Formula Solvency II implementations from IT and functional perspective
  • Intermediate programming skills, preferably in R, Python, Julia
  • Intermediate knowledge of data analysis and visualization in various reporting contexts such as Business Intelligence or GIS information systems
  • Possess knowledge of Insurance and Financial business processes, and industry best practices and regulatory requirements for risk management, with particular focus on Solvency II regime
  • Experience or knowledge of user experience design
