Chief Officer:
The Chief Officer reports to the Master.
  • To perform operational duties as requested by the Master, related to all tasks of the vessel including assisting with salvage jobs.
  • To monitor maintenance and housekeeping duties on deck, in the engine room or accommodation is done in safe manner and with good seamanship.
  • Motivate the vessel crew to be familiar with requirements of, and to comply with, the safety management system.
  • Propose initiatives for raising the onboard safety level. Motivate and educate crew in Proactive and Near Miss Reporting and Stop Work
  • Active participation in safety training like drills onboard including delivering training to other crew members.
  • Maintain awareness of the various risk that are present in the operations of a tug (OH&S, environment, security and cyber security risk).
  • Comply with local, regional, national and international legislation.
  • Comply with the regulations of the company safety management system.
  • Induction training of visitors, employees and other persons authorized by SVITZER to access the vessel where a Master is unavailable.

You must be able to communicate in Danish and English.
The position is a full time employment and you will be working in four week schedules, as one of 4 to 5 crew members.

In recent years, we have grown through new contracts and acquisitions, and growing continues to be a focus. At the same time, we are implementing our new Strategy, which prioritises Decarbonization and Technology. However, our standard marine services remain critical to us.
We operate globally 24/7, which means that things rarely stand still. However, we are good at manoeuvring being busy, as we enjoy working as a team by listening to and helping each other.
